sovereignty
The Moment
For me, sovereignty is quite simple: being able to decide what enters my life and what does not.
It is not about controlling everything around me. It is about having a space that genuinely feels like mine, where I can choose what I do, what I use, and what I give my attention to.
The Resonance
I started feeling this much more clearly when I simplified my digital life.
My phone and my Mac no longer need to constantly ask for my attention. I removed what I did not need, kept the tools that are actually useful to me, and tried to make technology work for me rather than the other way around.
And honestly, it feels very peaceful.
The Friction
Of course, it is not always easy.
There are always notifications, advertisements, social networks, commercial applications, messages, and a thousand little things trying to pull you somewhere else. Sometimes the simplest thing is just to say no.
For me, sovereignty also means being comfortable with that no.
The Quiet
I think that, in the end, this is what the word means to me.
It is not about having power over other people. It is not about isolating yourself either. It is simply the quiet freedom to decide where your time and attention go.
And when I close my Mac or put my phone away, I know that the choice is mine.
